Self Control on Google

This admirable quality is coming back in style!!!!

Especially in the technological world!

And what a wonderful trait to even hope for!

Studies are showing that even our teenagers are seeing the need to ‘cut down’ on their internet time, appreciating the distraction and time wasting that is so easily at our fingertips! I have included a report here if you are interested. And there is the hunt to seek out ways to do this effectively.

Some have discovered a very helpful app  found here OR Simply type in Self Control on Google … in Google!)

Here’s the description of what this app can perform for you!

THis app lets you block your own access to distracting websites, your mail servers, or anything else on the Internet. Just set a period of time to block for, add sites to your blacklist, and click “Start.” Until that timer expires, you will be unable to access those sites–even if you restart your computer or delete the application.

I do find this interesting and am loving what it says about who we are as human beings.

We are such creatures of exploration and intrigue.

Down through the ages, we have never been wanting to sit and stare at all that is around us without having to draw something in the sand, tinker, create, try out, investigate, traverse, scrutinise, research, dissect until …. we are satisfied with what we have found, and then we want to take what we have found and see if it works in other ways, to affect something else we have found!

But as much as we are one such individuals, we also have a built in sense of what is good for us and what is not!  (be that a sense that is acted upon or not!?) And in the exploration, if one is listening to this ‘sense’, we will go down one avenue until we feel that it is possibly not quite right  and thus we turn back and try another way forward.

For some, this has led to a beautiful sense of wanting or hoping for ‘self control’ when it comes to the world we can access ‘online’. For this to be through a simple app found on Google, or through accountability packages such as X3 Watch, OR through installing some sort of filtering device such as the Family Filter iBoss ~ all actions are commendable and a solid step towards a healthier choice of action for the individual and family.

Commendations to those who have reached such a place. And to those who are hoping to reach for this admirable quality of self control, we encourage you to take a step – one simple step – and put something in place to assist you on this creditable thought towards self control.
